Nabil Fakih: What Is a Community Pharmacy?
Nabil Fakih opened his very own community pharmacy after working for Rite Aid for several years following his graduation from pharmacy school. The pharmacy, Dearborn Heights Pharmacy, takes its name from its locale where Fakih and his family also reside. Now you’re probably wondering: what is a community pharmacy and why is it special? The term “community pharmacy” refers to local businesses that sell medicine. A community pharmacy is like Walgreens and CVS, but with a much smaller client base composed of the residents in the area and neighboring locales. Community pharmacies are also known as “retail pharmacies.” You can purchase their products over the counter as you would with most grocery stores.
